Product Overview

A Tiny AHD Camera Head for Existing Analog HD Host Devices

Many OEMs and system integrators do not need a new camera system from zero. They already have an AHD monitor, AHD DVR, coax cable, 12V power design, or portable inspection display.

Their real problem is more specific:

the existing camera head is too large for the new mechanical space.

Goobuy AC-602 is designed for this type of project. It helps engineers keep the existing AHD video path while reducing the camera head to a 6×6mm board-level module.

This makes AC-602 suitable for compact inspection tools, handheld maintenance displays, dry equipment internal viewing devices, portable AHD monitor kits, and retrofit analog HD video systems where low-latency live view is more important than AI processing or software image capture.

When the Video System Works, but the Camera Head Does Not Fit

In many industrial service tools and embedded live-view devices, the screen, DVR, power system, and video cable architecture are already defined. The project is blocked because the current camera head cannot fit into:

  • a narrow tool tip
  • a compact enclosure
  • a small internal cavity
  • a protected equipment space
  • a retrofit mounting position
  • a service inspection accessory

AC-602 helps solve that specific engineering problem:

Keep the AHD monitor or DVR. Keep the coax-based video path. Replace the bulky camera head with a 6×6mm AHD module.

This is why AC-602 is not positioned as a general camera module. It is positioned as a compact analog HD camera head for buyers who already have a host device and need a smaller visual access point.

Real Engineering Problems AC-602 Helps Solve

1. The Camera Head Is Too Large for the Tool Tip

Many handheld inspection tools, service devices, and compact industrial terminals fail mechanical integration because the camera head cannot fit into the available space.

AC-602 provides a 6×6mm board-level camera head for applications where the available mounting area is very limited.

2. The Project Already Has an AHD Monitor or DVR

If your product already uses an AHD monitor, AHD DVR, RCA/BNC input, or coax cable, changing to USB or IP may create unnecessary redesign work.

AC-602 allows you to evaluate a smaller camera head while keeping the existing AHD architecture.

3. USB or IP Camera Integration Adds Unnecessary Complexity

For live operator viewing, USB drivers, SDK integration, PC software, Ethernet settings, streaming delay, and network maintenance may not be needed.

AC-602 is intended for simple real-time viewing through an AHD-compatible host device.

4. The Operator Needs Instant Video, Not AI Processing

Some maintenance and inspection tools are used by technicians who only need a clear real-time view of a hidden area.

They do not need AI analysis, measurement algorithms, or computer vision capture. They need a small, stable, low-latency camera head connected to a display.

Mechanical Integration Notes

Does 6×6mm Mean the Full Camera Assembly Size?

The 6×6mm size refers to the board-level camera module size. The final mechanical envelope may be larger depending on:

  • lens height
  • lens diameter
  • cable exit direction
  • cable bending radius
  • connector size
  • heat shrink or reinforcement
  • protective housing or mounting bracket
  • installation angle inside the customer’s device

For tool-tip integration or narrow cavity projects, please send your available space drawing, required camera direction, cable route, and mounting method. Goobuy can help check whether AC-602 can fit your device or whether a different camera structure is more suitable.

What 720P AHD Can and Cannot Show

AC-602 is designed for real-time live viewing, not high-detail machine vision.

720P AHD is suitable for:

  • operator viewing
  • orientation and positioning
  • internal visual access
  • blockage checking
  • general maintenance inspection
  • protected equipment viewing
  • tool alignment and service observation

720P AHD is not ideal for:

Professional Engineering FAQ

1. We already have an AHD monitor in our handheld inspection tool, but the camera head is too large. Can AC-602 be used as a smaller replacement?

Yes. AC-602 is designed for this type of retrofit or product upgrade project. If your host device already supports AHD video input, the 6×6mm camera head can be evaluated as a smaller replacement for a bulky camera module.

Before sampling, confirm your monitor input, supported AHD resolution, PAL/NTSC format, connector, power supply, available camera space, cable route, and required FOV.

2. Our technicians only need real-time live video on a small display. We do not need AI processing. Is AHD a better choice than USB?

In many live-view tools, yes. AHD can send video directly to an AHD monitor or DVR without UVC drivers, SDK integration, PC software, or network configuration.

If your product only needs low-latency operator viewing, AC-602 may be simpler than USB. If your product needs image capture, AI analysis, frame control, or software processing, a USB camera is usually more suitable.

3. We have an AHD DVR, coax cable, and 12V power design already. Can we keep the system and only change the camera module?

That is one of the best-fit use cases for AC-602. It can help keep the existing AHD DVR, coax wiring, and display architecture while reducing the camera head size.

Compatibility still depends on PAL/NTSC format, connector wiring, cable length, power supply, grounding, and the DVR’s AHD input support. Testing with your actual DVR or monitor is recommended before custom configuration.

4. Is the 120° lens always better for a narrow inspection space?

Not always. A 120° lens is useful when the camera is very close to the target and the operator needs a wide view. However, if the target is farther away or the operator needs more detail, a narrower FOV may be better.

Goobuy can help evaluate lens angle based on working distance, cavity size, target size, image detail requirement, and the viewing area the operator needs to see.
